Now is the time that the Spring 2020 runways have officially wrapped up in New York City, so let’s start looking back at the trends which emerged along the way. Out of all the clothing, shoes, and accessories as well, next season’s jewelry trends, from colorful jewelry to the single earring trend, might just be the most fun to experiment with. Fashion designers got playful with oversized statement pieces, colorful gems, and standalone earrings proving sometimes the single life is really more fun.

1. Colorful Jewelry
Forget sticking to silver and gold, fashion designers brought on an explosion of color for next spring’s jewelry. There were gemstones at Brandon Maxwell, mismatched colors at Marc Jacobs and Ports 196, beaded pieces and bright floral at Ulla Johnson. Channeling our inner kids, it is all about having fun with our accessories.
2. The Single Earring
Earrings are going solo next spring. The single earring look dominated Spring 2020 runways from Tibi to Marc Jacobs and Prabal Gurung. The key to achieving this look is to go for an earring that is statement-making enough to stand on its own.
3. Oversized Chains
Chains got bigger and bigger on the Spring 2020 runways. Zimmermann layered oversized chain necklaces with beaded ones while Brandon Maxwell gave giant sparkling versions (some complete with matching chain earrings).
Pearls are going stronger for Spring 2020. The classic material made appearances in just about all forms – from layered necklaces to single drop earrings and even on headpieces at Khaite.
5. Big Hoops
Hoop earrings have never really left, but get ready to see them multiply in size next spring. Proenza offered a crop of power hoops on its runway – gold, thick, and double-hooped for extra measure, meanwhile, designers such as Oscar de la Renta explored the oversized look using different materials.
