Amidst the week of astonishing fashion and frenzy that is the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, there’s one show that is brimming with talent and potential. You may have guessed it; The Next Hotel Next Gen Group Show.

The line-up featured cutting edge collections from the new wave of emerging designers, SISS On Bare, Wilde Willow, Kabel Apparel, Megan Cannings, SUZII K, Peony, Eau Paix Vie Swimwear, IzzQ, Hana and Roux May. With so much beautiful fashion on show we can’t choose favourites, but there were a few designers who caught our eye.

Recently established Brisbane label Roux May stole the show with her bold prints and vivid colours. The collection featured beautifully tailored pieces that nail the art of easy-to-wear but still strikingly stylish. It was easy to see the South-African born designer’s heritage informing the collection. But our favourite part, the model walking down the runway with the Roux May’s mantra; Be.Brave.Love.

IzzQ made their runway debut at the festival, showcasing upcoming collection ‘Gisela’ SS15/16. The collection was sleek and sophisticated, heightened by the sultry sounds of Seventeen by Ladytron as the models sauntered down the runway. Gorgeous silhouettes, simple yet beautiful silk slips and dresses and dramatic lace, ‘Gisela’ is the ultimate evening collection.

Peony Swimwear (pictured first) and Eau Paix Vie Swimwear (pictured second) made us yearn for the hot summer months to arrive quickly so we can jump into the pool in their beautiful swimmers. Peony showed beautiful prints and laid back neutrals with a hint of detail for a feminine touch, the ultimate in chic swimwear. Eau Paix Vie killed it last summer with bright coloured and fruity motifs, and their new collection on show at MBFFB did not disappoint. There collection was bursting with colour, watermelons and other funky prints. It also featured a sleek black one-piece; this style is quickly becoming a summer swim essential.

Finally but in no means least was Kabel Apparel’s new collection ‘Beyond’ S/S15. Unlike their previous collections, ‘Beyond’ is more chic boasting a colour palette of monochrome and neutrals. They showcased tailored and structured rompers and shorts, alongside slinky tops, dresses and skirts. The perfect combination of yin and yang.

Make sure you visit the websites of all the designers on show to update your wardrobe with fresh threads. This is only the beginning for these designers so make sure you stay in the loop.
