2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend will take place from November 29 to December 1. While last year’s after-race concert headliners included Post Malone, Sam Smith, The Weeknd, and Guns N’ Roses, this year, The Killers is going to roar into the Abu Dhabi F1 to play at the race day concert. Announced by promoters Flash Entertainment, the rock group from Las Vegas will head to the Du Arena stage on Sunday, December 1. They also join Travis Scott, the rapper who plays the same venue on November 29, as part of the four after race concerts will be held during the F1 weekend.

The artists that will headline the other two concerts of the series will be announced later in the year.

The Killers inclusion into the F1 concerts comes on the back of a series of online clues that were dropped by the social media channels of Yas Marina Circuit the previous day.

The hints ranged from current developments that were surrounding the group to their more obscure career and song references.

The first evidence was the emoji of a David Bowie-esque singer, directly correlating with the group’s frontman Brandon Flowers that has expressed his love for the late British singer.

The second evidence was images of a guitar and drums, denoting that a rock band will come to Abu Dhabi. This was followed by an emoji of a pistol – a reference to the name of the band.

Another evidence came in the shape of an emoji dagger. That could hint to the brand’s name and could also reference the lyrics of the favorite 2012 single, Miss Atomic Bomb.

Sealing the deal was the last two pieces of evidence, one of which referenced their performance at Glastonbury music festival in the UK last month and the fact that the group amassed more than 30 music awards – in the present, their trophy cabinet has 32 gongs.
