While January might feel like a horribly gloomy place, the start of a new year is the perfect excuse to look ahead to what the year has in store. It’s the perfect time to say goodbye to coats and jackets because it’s warming up! With the new weather comes a new season of fashion with new trends to try. Read on to see the spring/summer 2020 fashion trends that you should try right now.

Milkmaid dresses

The milkmaid look has been slowly creeping into retailers everywhere and we’re already calling it as this season’s hottest trend. Putting an old school twist on your favorite spring/summer looks, the adorable tops and dresses have features like puff sleeves, bow ties, and square necks. They also tend to be incredibly versatile, with the dresses able to be dressed up with heels or paired with sneakers for a casual look. The tops can also be worn with everything such as a slip skirt or your favorite pair of jeans.

Matching sets

The check-print set, one of the biggest trends from winter, is carrying over into spring/summer. It’s never been cooler to be matchy-matchy. Spring/summer 2020 will see pencil skirts with matching crops and cute pants. There are still a few printed sets floating around but we’re mostly seeing brightly colored emerge as the warmer weather rolls in.

Slip skirts

If you are a slip dresses fan, you’ll surely love this trend. This spring/summer season, your 1990s slip dress has a little sister, the slip skirt. This skirt skims your figure in a flattering way, showing just enough. Team it with a T-shirt and boots to grunge it up or look poised and pair it with a plain bandeau and heels.

Bike shorts

The last few years of fashion have blurred the lines between streetwear and sportswear.  Off the back of this shift, bike shorts are the surprisingly wearable trend making their way into the mainstream. Try on a pair this summer. They are insanely comfortable!
